One of the intricacies of making the show was completing photography without compromising the cycling team’s strict training regimen. The production company’s presence needed to be unobtrusive in order for both The Science of Lance Armstrong and Lance’s bid for a 7th Tour title to be a success. Thorough pre-production planning on the part of Bill Latka, Rivet’s Executive Producer, ensured that the show went off without a hitch.

Veteran Writer/Director Martin Canellakis strove to depict an accurate portrayal of this hero’s journey, making sure not to lose the dramatic thread amongst the dizzying array of scientific facts and figures that mark Lance’s rise in the sport. The result is a show that dramatizes how Lance's impressive genetic advantages, brutal training regimen, obsession with technology, and iron will, have made him an athlete who is now mentioned in the same breath as Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Mohammed Ali.
