Michigan Offers Largest Production Incentive

Rivet Entertainment has opened a production office in Michigan in order to provide clients access to the new Michigan Film Incentive. Michigan is offering the largest incentive in the nation for any TV, film, documentary and video work – up to 42% cash back on expenditures. Bill Latka, president of Rivet is a native of Michigan, and is bringing his 20 years of production experience in Los Angeles and around the world to a place where projects can be made for a substantial savings.

Here’s a brief breakdown of the incentives.

On a “qualified production” (spend $50,000 in Michigan and become pre-registered with the state before the project begins):

-Get 40% cash rebate  on any dollar spent in Michigan – travel & lodging, equipment rentals, location fees, etc.

-Get 40% back on any dollar spent on resident crew and above-the-line regardless of domicile (that’s Rivet's growing network of film professionals, shooters, editors, even day labor and production assistants)

-Get 30% back on any dollar spent on any non-resident below-the-line crew that works in Michigan

-Get an extra 2% back on labor expenditures in any “core community” (150 of these in the state), including where the Rivet office is located

Rivet Entertainmet is gearing up now to be able to provide services to many producers. Rivet has already budgeted a $4.2M film that will cost the financier $2.9M. The office is in beautiful Traverse City – a stunning resort town and vibrant progressive community located on two beautiful bays off Lake Michigan in the northern lower peninsula. It's new airport provides easy access through Detroit, Chicago, Cincinannti and Dallas-Ft.Worth.
